There's nothing strange about Yvette Rheaume or the credentials she provides to Monsieur Lavigne when she arrives to replace Amelie. "Her mother is ill," Lavigne explains to the girl. "You will fill in for her duties until she returns, yes?"

Yes, of course. And it's a relief when the girl proves both capable and well-mannered; he simply cannot afford to force Herr Schneider to wait. If the facility were to cancel their monthly orders, he'd lose hundreds, thousands of francs in profit, money which assuages his guilt at assisting the enemy. He explains the process to the girl as they ride in a jeep towards the facility, and impresses on her the need for perfect discretion. "I will expect you to take clear and comprehensive notes," he reminds her. "We cannot miss any opportunity to re-supply."

"Yes, sir," she promises, and dutifully notes his instructions.

His ears are ringing by the time they reach the facility and Herr Schneider steps outside to greet them, his sharp eyes resting for a moment on Yvette. "Who is this lovely creature?" he asks, and Lavigne hastens to assure him of her loyalty and credentials. The German nods and politely ushers them inside. Lavigne is too relieved and too focused on the robust order to come to pay much mind to the way the man keeps half an eye on Yvette.

But she doesn't miss it. Not a single glance.

He cradles her in his arm through the storm of pleasure that surrounds them, then kisses her hair as she leans against him, as he pulls his hand away and puts both arms around her.

“I’ve got you, baby.”

She breathes deep, trying to calm her racing heart, boneless and wrecked as she curls against him and he holds her. "Jesus," she murmurs, and mouths a loose, lazy kiss to his neck.

"I thought we were going to have to wait until your day off for any of that."

“My self control wasn’t as good as I thought,” he admits, a little sheepishly. “I shouldn’t have teased you.”

She laughs, silently, shaking in his arms. "I'm not complaining," she promises.

"Except that I can't get my hands on you like this."

He gives her a quick kiss and smiles down at her. “Good. And I know you can’t,” he adds, almost innocently.

Almost.

She laughs again, breathless, and kisses him back, wriggling slightly in his arms. "I don't want to leave you hanging, either."

He tightens his hold around her and shakes his head once the kiss breaks. “I’ll wait,” he insists. “Until we’re together for real.”

"Your self-control is better than mine," she murmurs, and reaches up to comb her fingers gently through his hair.

“I don’t want you to have any doubts,” he says, softly, tipping his head into her touch. “And you deserve everything I can give you.”

She shakes her head, very slightly.

"I don't have any doubts about you, soldier boy," she murmurs. "And I feel the same way. I want to give you everything you want."

He leans down and kisses her again, slow and gentle.

“You’re so sweet,” he murmurs. “And giving, and lovely. Let me hold you like this for a little longer? That’s what I want right now.”

“As long as you want,” she promises, and curls against him, warm and relaxed and boneless. She breathes out a soft sigh and lets herself rest her head against his shoulder, marveling at the way he makes her feel.

He cuddles her close to him, lowering his face to her hair and letting himself take in the sweet scent of her as he works to steady his breathing and calm himself down.

She doesn't know how they'll manage to restrain themselves until his next day off, but it's impossibly sweet that he wants to try. Sharon lifts her hand to his hair and strokes gently over it as her heart rate finally begins to come down and her breathing slows.

He smiles against her hair.

"That feels nice," Bucky murmurs.

"Your hair is so soft," she says, low and smiling. There's some sort of pomade or something in it, but it still feels nice against her fingers. "It feels nice to me, too."

"I'm glad." He lifts his head and looks down at her for a second or two, then gives her a gentle kiss.

"Sweet boy," she murmurs, and kisses him back. "How am I supposed to try and keep my hands off you until your day off, huh?"

"I'll think of something," Bucky promises, already resigned to the fact that it'll likely involve staying in the presence of others rather than extended evenings in this field alone with her.

"You're just that wonderful, Sharon. I'm pretty gone on you."

"I'm pretty gone on you, too, soldier boy."

Pretty here meaning completely, and she knows it's a bad idea but she just can't stop herself. She spreads her fingers and rakes them through his hair from his forehead back to the crown of his head and smiles at him. "I had no chance."

His quick answering smile flashes as a bright and shining thing. "I suppose I should have given you more of a chance to spend time with the other guys," he admits, "but I wanted you to look at me."

"I had plenty of chances to spend time with whoever I wanted," she promises. "I wanted to spend it with you."

She leans up to kiss that smile, smiling herself. "Besides, you don't monopolize me at the pub or anything."

"That's true." He kisses her back, sweet and lingering. "Just here. Although I should probably get you back to your quarters soon."

"Mm."

It's noncommittal. He's right, but she doesn't want him to be right. "I hope the other guys won't feel like I've been leading them on."

"Why would they?" he asks, in a reasonable tone. "You haven't been. And it's not like you have to stop having fun with your friends or anything like that when you start dating someone more seriously."
