Karli's on the move; she'll strike soon. Bucky and Sam have been in long, tense conversations with each other and with Torres, and she herself has been keeping an obsessive eye on the tracker blip that is Batroc.

It's a lot. The air in the apartment is tense. But she still has to laugh at the sight that greets her when she walks into the living room: Bucky crouched down, his phone out as he takes a photo of Alpine, who is lounging in lazy grandeur, soaking up a puddle of sunshine.

"That'll be a good one," she approves. "Baby, I've been wondering – what happened to your nice camera? You didn't leave it in Wakanda, did you?"

Each little noise she makes sets a fire simmering in his blood. "There's nowhere else I want to be, but here with you."

He captures her nipple between finger and thumb, rolling it back and forth and stroking up toward the tip before he continues the light, teasing touches.

"Same," she says, then moans against his lips as he toys with her nipple. It stiffens beneath his thumb, his sweet touch lancing lightning through her blood with each brush over tender skin.

Her hands travel over his chest, slow and caressing, then up and over his shoulders, uncaring of the difference between metal and flesh.

He smiles against her mouth, drinking in the small sound, and does it again as he shifts position so that he can draw his left hand along her skin and curve it around her other breast, so that he can give the soft, teasing caresses to both.

Her hips push down into the bed as she arches her back, pressing her hardened nipples up into his fingers.

"Seven years," she marvels, "and you drive me just as crazy as you always did."

Not that long for him, she knows, but she thinks -- she hopes -- that if she'd been the one Snapped, he'd still feel the same way.

"Good," he murmurs, enjoying the way she responds to him. "I'd hate to think I didn't live up to your memories."

"Oh, you far surpass my memories," she teases back, then bites back a moan as he caresses her.

"But they were nice to have, all the same."

"Let's see if we can make more," he suggests, and begins to trail kisses along the line of her throat.

"You're on, Barnes."

She runs one hand up the back of his neck and into his hair as she turns her head, giving him as much access to her skin as he wants.

As he kisses her, he continues the movement of his hands, cherishing her. He lets himself drown in her scent, her warmth, the taste of her skin as he plants kiss after kiss, the feel of her pulse beneath his lips as he reaches the spot at the base of her throat that she likes so well, and teases it with lips and tongue.

He's still kneeling at her side, not lying over her; she can't wrap a leg around him and draw him in. She contents herself with running her hands over him, over every inch of skin and metal she can reach, as she makes soft sounds and gives herself up to his sweet kisses and caresses.

No one in Madripoor could ever understand anything like this. Even romantic entanglements were just another way to gain power or control. They couldn't possibly understand how it feels to be so thoroughly cherished by someone who loves her so much, even though he's seen the worst of what she can be.

He delights in every caught breath and small noise as he lazily kisses his way around the base of her throat to the other side, giving the mirroring spot the same focused attention before he moves down along the lovely lines of her body.

He replaces his right hand with his mouth at her breast, the heat of his tongue a sharp contrast to the cool metal of his other hand, and gives himself up to lavishing attention on her there as he trails his right hand down toward her hip.

"Oh – "

Her back arches sharply as she gasps, the warmth and wetness of his mouth sending sweet electricity arcing through her as he pulls on her skin and as his vibranium fingers continue to tease her. She shifts restlessly on the bed, drowning in his attention, in every deliberate kiss and touch.

He hums against her skin and shifts with her movement, rising and falling with her as she arches against him. Bucky traces a path over her hip and along her inner thigh, drawing aimless patterns there.

She wanted slow, and slow is exactly what he's giving her. Slow, dedicated, loving, like none of the last six years had happened and they're back in the hut by the lake, with a slowly-forming future stretching out ahead of them, learning every inch of each other.

At the light touch of his fingers, she shifts her legs, pushing her knees apart, and lets her own hand trail down over his back to his hip before her fingers curve over his thigh.

He smiles against her skin at the feel of her touch, and lets his own hand move higher, deliberately feathering a light touch of his own over her center, teasing and seeking and promising with each new caress.

"Bucky – "

His name is half a gasp, half a moan as he teases the sensitive bud of nerves there at the join of her legs. Every nerve feels attuned to his slightest touch, and her laugh is breathless. "You're such a tease."

He pulls back slowly, using his lips to draw her nipple to a stiff peak, and smiles up at her while he keeps teasing her with his fingers.

"Well, I didn't want to rush."

"Slow," she says, laughing at herself. "Don't rush. I love it."

He's driving her crazy, but she loves every second of it, being the recipient of his single-minded focus.

"I'm glad," he murmurs, and the light in his eyes is warm and happy. "Because I really hope you're enjoying yourself even half as much as I am--"

As he speaks, he slides two fingers inside her and presses his thumb against the nerve-filled bud.

"Ah – "

Her hips rock as he slips his fingers inside her, stroking and caressing and sending waves of pleasure through her. Her own fingers tighten on his thigh, then slip further into his lap to curl gently around the hard length of him. "What did I do to deserve you?" she wonders aloud, her voice a breathless murmur.

He groans as her hand closes around him, his fingers crooking inside her and his thumb circling against her. Bucky dips his head to kiss her mouth, deep and wanting, then smiles at her once more.

"You deserve so much better than me, baby, but I'll do my best for you."

"No such thing." She kisses him back, deep and drowning, and slowly strokes her hand over him, moaning softly as he curls his fingers, brushing them against that spot that makes her see white light.

"You already are the best. You're all I want."

Desire pools within him, building. His hips rock a little, chasing her touch, even as he makes himself give the rest of his attention to caressing that spot deep inside her, over and over, and lowers his head to kiss her again.

She kisses him back, deep and a little desperate, her breath coming short and fast as he stokes the fire building between them. Her free hand sinks into his hair, gripping it at the root as the fingers she has curled around him keep stroking along his skin at an agonizingly slow pace.

"Bucky," she whispers. "Bucky."

"Sharon," he murmurs back, before a low wanting sound escapes him as her fingers find purchase in his hair and around his length. He's so hard he's practically aching, but he's determined to draw this out for her as long as he possibly can.

He kisses her again, caressing her with both hands for a few moments before he slides his left arm under her back and lifts her closer.
