[oom] I cut the ties, I jumped the tracks
May. 28th, 2021 09:37 pmShe sleeps through the morning, through the sounds of traffic and the city waking up around them. Through the middle hours of the day, as the city goes to lunch and back to work; as people take afternoon strolls and window shop.
She sleeps through the afternoon, as light puddles on the floor and moves slowly over their feet to the opposite wall.
It isn't until purple evening begins to drift into the sky that she finally stirs, eyes sticky and mouth dry, and rolls over in the bed to slip her arm over Bucky's stomach. She wakes up slow, heavy with sleep, and only the thought that she's waking up to Brooklyn, to home, to him, keeps her from simply slipping back beneath the warm lazy waves.
She smiles and shifts closer, pressing a slow kiss to the side of his neck. "Baby," she says, soft, and smiles again into his warm skin.
"I think we overslept."
