[WWII AU] you and your baby went to town

Waiting for Bucky's day off has been as difficult as waiting for Christmas used to be when she was a kid. And it doesn't help that they just don't seem to be able to manage time alone together after the mission – not enough of it, anyway. A few stolen kisses here and there are all she gets, even as she feels like she's burning up from pure want.

When he finally tells her, grinning, that he's gotten another R&R day, she spends the next few days in a haze of relieved anticipation. Not just at the thought of finally being able to touch him, but just because she loves spending the time with him. She knows it's a bad idea, knows it's only going to hurt so much worse down the line, but she can't stop herself, and she doesn't want to.

She doesn't ride with him into town this time. Instead, he'd told her to meet him at the little chapel he'd shown her earlier. Wilkins is happy to give her a lift, after she spends extra time and care on her hair and makeup and clothes – the civilian outfit he likes so much and which Lorraine had tried to ruin. 

She's right on time as she walks into the little chapel and looks around for him. "Bucky?"

She laughs, breathless, as he kisses her. "I'll remember," she promises, then makes a small sound as he kisses along her skin.

"Somehow I don't think you'll have any trouble finding the things I like."

He smiles against her shoulder and works his way back, then eases down a little and begins to kiss her chest, moving in to drop kisses at the hollow of her throat and to the place above her heart.

"You're so lovely," he murmurs.

"I'm glad you think so."

She runs her fingers through his hair, relaxing beneath him as he kisses his way down along her body. "It was so sweet when you kissed me there before."

“You don’t know how hard it was for me to stop you that night,” he murmurs, as he kisses her there again. Bucky shifts his weight to his elbow and cups her breasts with both hands as he presses another kiss to her heart.

“But I wanted you here.”

She breathes deep, pushing into his hands and lips. "I have some idea," she murmurs, smiling. "It was pretty hard to stop myself, too."

He curves his fingers around her, running his thumbs up and over the taut buds, tweaking and rolling and caressing her to determine the kind of touch she prefers.

“No holding back now,” he says, softly.

"No," she agrees, and smiles at him before she rocks towards him, hoping to coax him onto his back. "No holding back now."

His smile flashes as she shifts, and he allows a little of his weight to rest on her, holding her secure. “I’m not done yet,” he teases, and bends his head to take the tip of one breast into his mouth.

She gasps and arches her back, whimpering softly as he takes her breast into his mouth, warm and wet against sensitive skin. When her fingers grip into his hair this time, it's reflexive instead of teasing; she can't help herself.

He makes a low sound against her but doesn’t stop. Bucky uses his tongue to shape each changing texture of her skin, then draws her deeper into his mouth and flutters his tongue over her nipple. With his hand, he tweaks her other breast, then smooths his palm over her and along her side to her hip.

She groans at each sweet press of his mouth and flick of his tongue, her nipple stiff and tender and pleasure pulsing through her. Beneath him, she arches and rolls like a wave, trying to press into both his hand and his mouth, desperate for more. Her hands skate over his hair, down along the nape of his neck to his shoulders and arms, savoring the feel of him against her.

He shifts again, kissing his way across her chest to lavish attention on her other breast with his mouth and swapping hands to tease the abandoned one instead. She arches and rises beneath him and he lets himself adore her with short flicks and long lingering licks, trying to bring her all the pleasure he can before he starts trailing kisses along the smooth, lovely skin of her belly.

Goosebumps scatter across her skin as he presses kiss after kiss over her stomach, shivering with delight and building anticipation. "You're so sweet," she murmurs, raking her fingers through his hair. "How could I ever get enough of you?"

He tickles her bellybutton with his nose, then laughs up at her. “I hope you don’t.”

She laughs like she had when he picked her up to let her fly, bubbling up like champagne, bright and girlish.

"I don't think I can," she teases back. "But same goes, baby."

He runs his hands over the swell of her hips as he smiles up at her, charmed by her laughter. “I never will,” he tells her, and kisses her hip, then the top of her thigh, then her inner thigh, then her knee, running his hands over her legs as he does.

"I hope not," she murmurs, her smile small and warm as she watches him move down along her body.

In all likelihood, she won't be here long enough for that to happen, but... it's been weeks, now. Every day, the resonance coming off her body ticks a little bit lower. She wonders what will happen the day it finally disappears for good, and if it'll mean she can never get home again.

But that's the last thing she wants to think about, when she's with him here and now. She shivers as he kisses her knee and smiles. "Taking that 'all over' thing pretty seriously, huh?"

“I’m a man of my word,” he says, pressing a kiss to her calf. “Besides, I might find another spot you really like.”

He trails his fingers over the back of her knee, lightly.

She yelps a laugh and reflexively tries to pull her leg away. "Careful," she says, a giggle in her voice. "I'm ticklish."

“Oh, really.” Mischief is clear in every line of him, but he doesn’t move to take advantage of this new information.

Slowly, each kiss deliberate and lingering, he works his way back up her other leg.

"That's going to come back to bite me later," she laughs, but she doesn't make any move to pull away from him. "I just know it."

“Maybe.” He nibbles gently at the sensitive skin of her inner thigh, laughing, then presses a soothing kiss to the same spot.

Bucky sweeps his hands over her thighs and hips, then under the swell of her rear.

She shifts to let him get his hands beneath her, strong and warm, her eyes dark and soft as she watches him. "Well," she murmurs. "I'm in your hands, baby."

“I’ll take care of you,” he promises, low and sincere, and sets his mouth to her center for a much more intimate kiss.
