[WWII AU] you and your baby went to town
Waiting for Bucky's day off has been as difficult as waiting for Christmas used to be when she was a kid. And it doesn't help that they just don't seem to be able to manage time alone together after the mission – not enough of it, anyway. A few stolen kisses here and there are all she gets, even as she feels like she's burning up from pure want.
When he finally tells her, grinning, that he's gotten another R&R day, she spends the next few days in a haze of relieved anticipation. Not just at the thought of finally being able to touch him, but just because she loves spending the time with him. She knows it's a bad idea, knows it's only going to hurt so much worse down the line, but she can't stop herself, and she doesn't want to.
She doesn't ride with him into town this time. Instead, he'd told her to meet him at the little chapel he'd shown her earlier. Wilkins is happy to give her a lift, after she spends extra time and care on her hair and makeup and clothes – the civilian outfit he likes so much and which Lorraine had tried to ruin.
She's right on time as she walks into the little chapel and looks around for him. "Bucky?"

He feels so good she can hardly stand it, has no idea how she's been able to bear these last weeks.

Bucky shifts to take her mouth in a deep, drugging kiss as he rolls his hips in a surge of motion, seeking to bring her over the edge into bliss before he lets himself follow.

He touches her and rolls his hips, brushing those spots deep inside, and her head falls back as the wave crests and breaks, rolling through her in a rush of pleasure that flashes white behind her eyes. She cries out as the flood takes her, unthinking and reflexive, shuddering in his arms.

Sharon mouths kisses over his neck, then lifts a hand to push sweat-dampened hair off her forehead before she gives him a dark-eyed, lazy smile.

“My darling angel,” he murmurs.

She smiles, dopey and pleased, and kisses the edge of his ear. "You're worth the wait."
no subject
“Am I too heavy for you?”
no subject
"Besides, I've wanted to have you here in my arms for so long."

Literally, even. She's pretty sure she'd had this dream more than once during puberty. She reaches up to comb his hair back from his forehead, her heart so full she's a little afraid it's going to shatter.

She gently strokes her fingers through his hair, then lifts them away to do it again. "Thank you for doing all this," she tells him, her voice church-quiet. "I love it. You make me feel like the most special girl in the world."

“I’m so glad I met you, Sharon. I know coming here isn’t anything you ever wanted, and I won’t give up trying to get you home, but… I’m so glad you’re here now.”

It's impossible. There's no future for them, only heartbreak and longing and memories. But she doesn't care. She strokes her hand over his hair and kisses him, soft and lingering. "I wouldn't give up meeting you for anything."
no subject
As discreetly as he can, he removes the condom and discards it to the side under the edge of the hay, then puts both arms around her once more.
no subject
"I'm glad we waited," she murmurs. "You deserved this to be special, too."

"Do you want me to get you another glass of wine?" he asks. "Or water? I have that, too."
no subject
She'll be thirsty, and the water would be nice. So would another glass of wine. She spreads her hand over his ribs, feeling his breath rise and fall beneath it. "It feels so nice to lie here with you like this."
